Ladybird Room
2 years 8 months to Primary School age
ECCE Room
The Ladybird Room follows a play-based approach, guided by Aistear, the national early childhood curriculum. This holistic method places the child at the centre, giving each one the time and freedom to explore, make choices, and learn at their own pace. Our early years educators support this by providing engaging resources, planning activities based on children’s interests, and recording their learning and development.
The room is thoughtfully arranged into a range of interest areas, including the home corner, tabletop activities, messy play, cosy corner, construction, small world play and arts and crafts. Both adult-led and child-initiated activities take place indoors and outdoors. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and solve problems. Through play, they develop social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive skills, whilst also building independence and confidence.
